GM Ser,
Nothing Says “Y2K” Like LimeWire. Now They're Back to Reclaim the Nostalgia
Remember LimeWire? Where you could illegally download the hottest hits from NSYNC to BSB? Well they “want you back.”
Yep, it’s true. LimeWire is coming back as an NFT marketplace. They will be rebranding as a “mainstream-ready, digital collectibles marketplace for art and entertainment, initially focusing on music.
LW is hoping to bring in those less experienced with NFTs and make the process less clunky for “newbies” by selling all NFTs in USD and available for purchase with credit cards.
The former music-downloader boasts to be working with some very high profile musical artists to be a part of the new launch.
To clarify that the relaunch is not a new streaming service, co-CEO Julian Zehetmayr said in a statement, “[I]t’s important to note that we are not relaunching LimeWire as an alternative to streaming platforms, but rather as an additional channel for artists to sell exclusive music and art directly to collectors.”
In a move that is being hailed as a game changer for the entertainment industry, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the launch of the WB Movieverse with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Version) Web3 Movie Experience NFT. This groundbreaking new release will allow fans to engage with the film in ways never before possible!
